Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

• Provide legal advice

• Conduct legal research

• Drafting legal contracts and negotiating the terms of the contract

• Ensure regulatory compliance

• Documenting SOPs and identification of gaps between SOPS

• Ensuring best company practises and good corporate governance

• Grant application

• Data Protection Officer

• Incorporating companies in new markets and ensuring compliance with the local regulatory requirements thereafter

• Merger and acquisition + performing due diligence

• Liaising with regulatory authorities on new regulatory requirements

• Various ad hoc tasks

Requirements

• Degree in Law or equivalent

• Proven experience as a legal counsel in a business/SME environment

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures

• Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation

• Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies

• High degree of professional ethics and integrity

• Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information

• Excellent communication and analytical skills
